Your Role

At Saab Surveillance, we develop radar systems and sensors with advanced electronics. The demand for these radar systems is increasing, and good Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) performance is central to our success. Therefore, we aim to strengthen our team with a team leader for our group that works with requirements specification, system design, analysis, and verification regarding EMC for our products.

The team works on several development projects conducted in parallel for radar products on land, at sea, and in the air, which requires working on the right project at the right time and developing skills and work methods for future innovation. As a team leader, you will have a central role in the continuous improvement of work methods as well as planning and coordinating tasks.

The responsibilities of the EMC team include:

• Developing and maintaining design guidelines for mechanical and electronic designers and system engineers
• Collaborating closely with designers, materials engineers, and system engineers to design mechanical and electrical design with respect to EMC
• Subsystem work including requirements definition, system design, and verification
• Taking overall responsibility for the products' EMC performance
• Conducting various types of analyses and simulations of EMC-related phenomena (airborne and conducted)
• Defining and monitoring EMC tests to support product development and verify EMC performance for components, subsystems, and systems
• Developing work methods and driving innovation and technology development within EMC

As the team leader for the EMC team, your responsibilities will include:

• Being the cohesive force for the team's planning and coordination of work, deliveries, method development, etc.
• Making time estimates for upcoming projects and forecasting workload and skills needs in the future
• Receiving assignments from development and delivery projects and determining the scope of the assignments and, with support from your manager, setting the priority order of the assignments
• Distributing tasks within the team and following up
• Interacting with project managers and product managers to capture upcoming challenges and needs around EMC and follow up on commitments
• Involving the team with other teams and experts to build networks within Saab and develop skills, methodology, and collaboration
• Reviewing and ensuring the quality of the reports created by the team
• Also contributing to the execution of the team's system work and technical assignments

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is interested in leadership but also wants to work as an engineer. You have an academic background, preferably a master's degree in technical physics, electrical engineering, or equivalent. We would like you to have previously worked technically in electrical design, antenna technology, EMC, or related areas and that you are now ready for new challenges in a role as a team leader.

As a person, we see that you have an analytical approach and that you are driven in your work and have the ability to delegate and inspire others. Since the team leader role requires effective interaction, you need to be social and have an interest in making new contacts and building your network within Saab.

You have a structured way of working and express yourself well in both spoken and written language, in both Swedish and English.

We also believe that you recognize yourself in some of the points below:

• Knowledge of electrical engineering, electric fields, and materials
• Experience working as a system engineer or project manager
• Experience in testing and verification
• Experience in simulations and analyses
• Interest in leadership

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.
